In 2014, a small group of musicians came together, not just to make music, but to make a difference. What began as a humble act of compassion has grown into a global movement — The Common People — bringing hope to underprivileged children across the world.
We believe that ordinary people can create extraordinary change.
Through the love of community and the power of giving, we stand by children in need, helping them learn, grow, and dream beyond their circumstances. 100% of what we receive goes directly to where it matters most — the children. Because when common people unite for a common purpose, remarkable things happen.

Founded in 2014, The Common People (TCP) was created to serve the greater common good. From the very beginning, we have been driven by a passion to reach out to people in need around the world — without discrimination of age, religion, ethnicity, gender, or ability.
As a registered not-for-profit organisation with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), TCP spent its early years collaborating with national and international benevolent institutions, sharing our energy, expertise, and commitment to positive change. Our focus has always been on addressing critical issues such as poverty and child labour, and their far-reaching consequences, including malnutrition, social exclusion, lack of social protection, and psychosocial underdevelopment.

Founded in 2014, The Common People (TCP) began with a simple mission: to reach out to people in need around the world. We raise funds for impactful projects primarily through our annual charity concerts and have collaborated with like-minded organisations including the Watoto African Children’s Choir, Christian Blind Mission, Samaritan’s Purse, and Red Cross Australia. In 2019, we launched our own initiative to sponsor 1,000 children from remote villages, marking a new chapter in our journey of service.
The name “The Common People” reflects who we are — ordinary people from all walks of life united by a passion for the greater common good. Our mission is to promote education, health, and holistic development for children living in underprivileged communities.
